Academy for Arts, Science & Technology to hold open house
The Academy for Arts, Science & Technology is located in the Carolina Forest section of Myrtle Beach. The Academy for Arts, Science & Technology is part of the Horry County Public School system.
The Academy for Arts, Science and Technology will host an Open House on January 21, 2010 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. The event is for all 10th graders in Horry County. We invite all students and parents to tour our school, visit with other students, and meet the instructors from career majors and academic classes.
Students are encouraged to pre-register now for 2010 as majors will fill up fast! Tenth grade students can choose from the following majors at AAST:
Introduction to Pre-Medicine
Environmental Science
Pre-Engineering
Dance and Creative Movement
Theater
Advanced Visual Arts
Interactive Media/Digital Communications
Entertainment Technology
Education
The Academy for the Arts, Science, and Technology is organized around nine career majors: Advanced Art, Dance, Digital Communications, Education, Entertainment Technology, Environmental Science, Pre-engineering, Pre-medicine, and Theatre. Here is a Video highlighting our nine majors. Juniors and seniors from any of the Horry County high schools may choose to come to AAST to enroll in one of these majors. We also offer a full range of academic courses that juniors and seniors need to meet graduation requirements and to prepare them for post-secondary education or entry into the workplace.
